A news article called Great Firewall of China” by Ben Elgin and Bruce Einhorn was written a little over two months ago talking about the firewall that China currently has. Skype wanted to enter China and talk with clients. They were told that in order to do so that they needed to filter certain words that might be offensive to the Beijing government. Phrases such as “Falun Gong” and “Dalai Lama” are filtered over their Skype sessions. Skype knew that there was no budging the Chinese Government so they gave in

This is an image of the internet users worldwide in 2002. It’s very obvious that the United States, China, and Japan are among the highest internet users. Whether they are "gaming" or actually using it for more useful services such as e-mail or other types of communication, other countries aren't as privileged or just don’t have the luxury that we do.
            The internet helps globalization in many ways. A very good specific example is when people place orders over the internet. Phone calls have become much less important and e-mail is the new thing to do. That is why the United States is a major trade partner with Japan and China. The internet has a major role in communication and the connectedness of many countries both big and small.

Over the past couple of weeks we have been watching “Slumdog Millionaire.” Throughout the movie I noticed many things that caught my eye. A few of them were the slums they were living in and also much of the clothing that was being worn.
            The women would many times be wearing what is called a Saree (many different spellings). A Saree is a strip of unstitched cloth, ranging from four to nine meters in length that is draped over the body in various styles. It is usually worn around the waist with one end over the shoulder. It is usually worn with another blouse called a choli or ravika.
             The Saree has been around in India for many years. Many women love it so much because it can be worn in so many various styles and colors. It looks good on every woman in India. It is considered to be one of the most graceful and ethnic attires.
